ALTA Surveys

When Commercial and Industrial sites are changing hands or applying for refinance, it is often required that a survey meeting the standards adopted by ALTA (American Land Title Association) and NSPS (National Society of Professional Surveyors) a member organization of ACSM. The most recent edition is from 2016. When requesting an ALTA survey, you should furnish the Land Surveyor with a copy of Table A of the agreement. Table A lists the specific items that the client will be interested in viewing on the drawing of the provided survey.

Table A contains 22 items that may be selected. Some of these will increase the cost for the survey while others may have minimal effect. For your convenience, the full 2016 agreement may be accessed by clicking here.

After reviewing the agreement, you may have questions regarding some of the items which may be familiar only to Land Surveyors and others in related capacities. Please feel free to give us a call and discuss those items.

We provide a quote for these type of surveys but will need a copy of Table A so that we know what services to include in the quote. Time is usually of great importance when these surveys are provided and as you can see from the agreement they take a good deal of a Land Surveyors time to go through all the items that appear in the Commitment for Title Insurance.
